Twenty-four hours, three guidelines, six films, one winner.

The Reitz Union Board kicked off All Around Gainesville Week with a 24-Hour Film Rush on Saturday, when student teams created films under certain conditions in just 24 hours.

This year, each film had to include a local Gainesville event, a person who represents Gainesville and the line, "What, you haven't been to X-Mart before?"

This year's winning film, "The Jogger," will be screened before each of RUB's showings of "The Hangover," playing nightly until Thursday.

The winning team, named the Mustachioed Gentlemen, made its film about a stabbing.

The group has worked together before and has films on YouTube.

Holding a small trophy, Alex McQuiston, part of the winning team, cracked an exhausted smile as he described the trials and tribulations the team had gone through.

"I only slept an hour and a half," he said. "Half of us were doused in fake blood this morning in 60-something degree weather."

John Rutherford, another team member, was cut by glass while playing a homeless man in the movie.

The films were presented Saturday in the Reitz Union auditorium and were voted on by the audience.

"The Videotape," a movie about a man confused with his life, won second place. Coming in third was "Whistlers of Men," a movie reminiscent of "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure," depicting two men rediscovering the art of whistling.

RUB Director Abby Swartz has taken part in the film rush for the past two years but thought that the technical quality shown in this year's videos was particularly impressive.

Swartz is excited to show the film next week as she expects a decent amount of students will go see "The Hangover."
