The girl with the bloodred lips and blond hair raises her legs seductively into the air.
She is a mystery, she is a fantasy - and Friday, she had an audience.
The pinup girl is one of about 40 art pieces featured in an exhibit from the UF Alagarto Printmakers Guild, which hosted its opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the UF Focus Gallery.
The exhibit, which will run through Oct. 23, showcases the work of about 20 members of Alagarto, a Student Government sponsored printmaking guild comprised of undergraduate and graduate students.
Alagarto, whose name comes from the Latin and Spanish word for alligator, was established in 1990 by UF professor Robert Mueller and his former colleague Kenneth Kerslake.
Mueller, area coordinator of the printmaking department in the School of Art and Art History, curated the exhibit. He said every member of the guild who submitted work was guaranteed at least one piece in the show.
