May I add my voice in support of WUFT-FM's current programming format, and I hope you will hear from many more who share my view that the new format offers an exciting, rewarding and enriching listening experience. It's impossible to fact-check the claims by those 40 music-lovers with the funds to buy a full-page ad in the Sun.

But I for one would regret any decision to step back to what they believe was a "balance" between music (actually about 19 1/2 hours in 24) and news/commentary (4 1/2 hours).

This group also urges readers to call in during this pledge week with an implied threat that they will only contribute if the old format is restored.

I find this offensive, and it has motivated me to double the amount of my membership contribution this year. Options for listening to good classical, folk and jazz music are there. Missing from the ad is another alternative--choosing from one's collection of CDs. And these folks must have lots to choose from. So please, stay with what you've got going for many of us. Thank you.
