Friday kicks off Fest with some powerful headliners and a couple of amazingly stacked sets.
A Wilhelm Scream, Strike Anywhere, Coalesce and Russian Circles are all established, still rising stars in their respective genres. While the conflict between Wilhelm and Circles is unfortunate, the choice should be easy for most fest goers, depending on their taste.
Rum Runner's stage will enjoy a night of solid punk bands still making names for themselves. Safety, a punk band from Tampa, are ones to look out for in particular. They keep thier mission statement straight forward: play punk rock. While it's a simple goal, it's one they accomplish in spades.
If the moshpit is your thing, parking it at Common Grounds for the evening would be a good move. Post-hardcore, grindcore and metalcore will all see stellar representation from the likes of The Catalyst, Magrudergrind and the previously mentioned Coalesce.
