I was severely disappointed in the representation of Louis Centanni concerning the front-page article. Certain inaccuracies were statedthat all together misrepresented not only Louis himself, but all thosesuffering with Tourette Syndrome.
First, subjugating the disease to saying that the ticks can be controlled is a gross exaggeration. Louis was saying that through acting, miraculously he can control his ticks, however he isaware and mentioned that the ticks are uncontrollable and mostly unnoticeable to him.
Moreover, I feel that the article completely misunderstood Louis's objective in giving the talk. He was not saying that living with Tourette's is "not so bad." He completely acknowledged the struggle it was and is for him concerning his battle with the public school system and also everyday tasks. Louis's point was that life goes on and that he does not let his disease define him.
