In an attempt to reign as fast food's king of the grill, Burger King Corp. officials have announced plans to overhaul its 12,000 restaurant locations.
The remodeled restaurants will feature a "sleek interior" with "rotating red flame chandeliers" and "industrial-inspired corrugated metal and brick walls," according to an article by the Associated Press.
The king of Burger King, CEO John Chidsey, said the restaurant will feel much more "upscale," according to the article.
About 60 locations have already been remodeled.
So, by the time the No. 2 burger restaurant chain in the U.S. has finished remodeling its remaining 11,940 locations, they'll likely be outdated.
We can't understand why fast food chains insist on marketing their products as something other than fast food.
A McDonald's McCafé won't make anyone's McDesk job any more McMarvelous.
Just like ordering a Whopper from a "brilliant TV-screen menu" won't make our burgers any better.
So Burger King, please find another way to spend that "whopping" $300,000 to $600,000 per restaurant. Perhaps start with developing better menu items?
Or at least think of a better advertising campaign. That king fella is getting creepy.
