I felt compelled to write to the Alligator after reading the letter to the editor titled, "Scalpers show business sense."

As a student season-ticket holder, I attend UF home games each week. If something terrible were to happen and I was unable to use a ticket, I would sell it for what I paid for it: $10.

My conscience would never allow me to charge a fellow student more than $100 for a ticket just because he wants to be at the game. Each year, many students who really want to attend Florida football games fail to win the lottery. This should not result in these students having to pay extraordinary amounts of money to watch their team play.

If you apply for the student-ticket lottery for the sole purpose of making hundreds of dollars, you are completely abusing the system and taking advantage of your classmates' team spirit.
