Narrated by Kyle Maistri
(Writer) Kyle Maistri (Alligator Army) def. (W) Phil Kegler (Phil on the Hill) 82-72:
In a defensive struggle, eventual league champion Alligator Army got the better of previously undefeated Phil on the Hill. Strong performances from Jay Finley and the Florida defense (18 pts. each) were enough for the Army to sack Phil and that Hill he sits on. Zeros from Julio Jones and Kevin Koger ultimately did in the only writer with a winning record through the first three weeks. Oh, and thanks to the real life Vols defense for holding Tim Tebow and Jeff Demps in check.
(W) Mike McCall (Skips no Quarter Swashbuckler) def. (W) Bobby Callovi (Jerry Hughes for Heisman) 110-103:
In our second writer-writer matchup of the week, Callovi did a poor job of managing his roster. Instead of playing the most dynamic QB in the nation, Robert Griffin, Hughes for Heisman trotted out Matt Barkley who watched Washington defeat USC from the sidelines, taking a 0. He also sat Joe McKnight (16 pts.) and the Oklahoma defense (23 pts.) which would have more than made up for his 7-point deficit. Callovi also wasted a masterful performance from Heisman hopeful Jahvid Best who found the endzone five times on his way to 44 points. Meanwhile, McCall, who was tried and failed to drop the Tennessee defense in time, was led by little man Todd Reesing (36) and A.J. Green (27 pts.). Between the two owners, six players scored 0 points for their teams - a new fantasy sports record as confirmed by Elias Sports Bureau.
(Reader) Ben Volin (Rollin' with Volin) def. (W) Mike DiFerdinando (DiFer) 145.75-83.25:
Big weeks for seemingly all of Volin's players, including Blaine Gabbert (28.5 pts.), Noel Devine (32 pts.) and quite possibly the best white receiver on a bad team in all of college football Eric Decker (29 pts.). DiFer got a big week from Zac Robinson but squandered 71 bench points as Volin became the only 3-0 team in the alligatorSports Fantasy Challenge.
(R) Joshua Levy (Joshua Levy) def. (R) David Medoff (Fourth and Short) 125-97.25:
Terrelle Pryor led Levy to victory with 41 fantasy points. It's only a matter of time before Pryor's "everybody kills" mentality comes back to bite Levy in the butt. Medoff put up a nice fight behind a balanced scoring attack but left his two biggest scorers on the bench as Jerrod Johnson went off for 43 points. D. Medd left 93 points on the bench in all.
(R) Randall Abbott (Dead Rabbotts) def. (R) Zach Rogan (FBS Zach) 136.5-117.5:
In a battle of the two highest scoring teams in the league thus far, Rabbotts came out ahead thanks to Taylor Potts and Mike Williams (32 pts. each). Rogan left 99.5 points on the bench - also a fantasy record as confirmed by Elias - playing Daryll Clark (16 pts.) instead of Ryan Mallett (46 pts.). Both teams seem to be rolling and will likely be forces to be reckoned with for the rest of the season.
