We've all been there before.

Every college student has fallen asleep with their Facebook page open after a long night of drinking only to later discover their profile chock full of interesting additions.

From a change in sexual preference to new interests including "pole-dancing" and "one person garage parties," the Editorial Board has seen it all.

While pulling a prank on an unsuspecting buddy's Facebook page won't exactly end a friendship, the growing issue of Facebook impersonation is no laughing matter.

According to a report on CNN, criminals are hacking their way into people's Facebooks and posing as the individual. Once they take over the account, the crook will post a status update saying that he or she is in some sort of trouble. Usually what ensues is that a kindhearted friend will respond to the plea by wiring money to whom they believe is their friend in need.

One incident left a good Samaritan out over $1,000 after sending his friend money upon hearing he had been mugged while vacationing in London. Unfortunately for the man who thought he had done a good deed, his friend was safely at home in Seattle.

The Editorial Board encourages you to be careful with your Facebook account. We aren't trying to sound like your mom and dad, but we'd hate to catch word someone hacked into your account because you used a disturbingly obvious password like "gators." We want you to have fun "networking," but be sure to play safe.
