A man was found dead in his car in the parking lot of a Gainesville movie theater Wednesday evening.
The body of Inverness man Timothy Ball, 26, was found inside a silver Kia in the parking lot of Regal Gainesville Cinema 14.
Ball had been stabbed in his upper torso, said Gainesville Police Department spokesman Keith Kameg.
Kameg said GPD will conduct a death investigation, but the department does not suspect any foul play.
Ball is not a UF student and has no apparent ties to Gainesville, Kameg said.
Kameg said police were dispatched to an injured person call at the theater, located at 3101 S.W. 35th Blvd., at 5:47 p.m.
Ball's body was sitting upright in the driver's seat of his parked car in the lot. His head was slightly tilted to the right and his gray polo shirt was bloodstained.
The weapon was found in the car, Kameg said.
A Regal employee said they saw Ball alive in the car earlier in the day, apparently talking on his cell phone, Kameg said.
The cause of death will be determined after the autopsy results come back.
