Sadly, one resident of Gainesville has taken his gaming obsession way too far.
According to a Gainesville Sun article, a 26-year-old man was arrested for beating a 10-year-old boy after a dispute over a missing video game.
We assume the child lost the man's favorite game, causing the man to allegedly grab the child by his throat and hit his head repeatedly against a dresser.
Fortunately, the boy did not require medical attention and can now play to his heart's content while his attacker faces criminal charges.
What makes the story even more absurd is the fact that the game in question was apparently for the original PlayStation system.
While Nintendo 64 has achieved hipster-chic status, we have one bit of advice for this violent video game villain - 1994 just called, they want their technology back.
