Over the weekend, President Barack Obama authorized missile strikes into Pakistan that killed 21 people, mostly civilians.
The Pakistani government has urged the United States to stop these strikes and respect the sovereignty of the country.
However, Obama has signaled no intention to do so.
Although Obama has made many improvements over the Bush administration in several issues, most notably with Guantanamo Bay, his actions in Pakistan have shown that he is not going to substantially deviate from the imperialist policies set by his predecessor.
In addition, he has promised to escalate the war in Afghanistan, something that can only result in more antagonism from the Middle East and the creation of a new generation of terrorists.
Anyone who values peace needs to seize this opportunity to pressure Obama to keep the promises he made during the campaign to change the direction of United States foreign policy.
