While attending balls and luncheons highlighted just part of a full schedule for the new administration, carrying moving boxes did not.

The same cannot be said for their predecessors, as former Vice President Dick Cheney played "mover" before attending the inauguration.

But we wonder, how hard can moving around a few pairs of slacks and dress shoes really be?

If you're the outgoing vice president, you end up in a wheelchair.

Moving belongings into his new McLean, Va., digs, Cheney apparently hadn't adjusted to his new life as a grumpy old man just yet - pulling a muscle as he threw out his back.

The ill-timed incident left Cheney immobilized, forced to get around on four wheels just as he was set to leave office.

The media got one more jab at Cheney - one headline read "Cheney wheelchair bound as Obama soars."

The Editorial Board can't help but chuckle at the former vice president's plight. We do realize Cheney has a history of medical ailments, but heck, what a lasting image he cut for America in his final public appearance as second-in-command.

But perhaps Cheney got the last laugh. At least he didn't have to stand when the time came to honor President Obama.

We can only imagine him uttering a few choice words under his breath as he remained seated among the throng of standing supporters.

"Gotcha, suckers."
