As a recovering Christian, I find some of the proclamations of faith in Turlington Plaza extremely hard to swallow. I do not understand how screaming "You're all gonna die" is supposed to bring people to Christ. It is a ludicrous idea.
I found the picture on the front page of the Alligator to be incontestably appropriate. I applaud the person who deemed the picture front-page worthy. When I saw the poster stating "Homo sex is sin" and a "threat to national security," I could not help but laugh. This person deserved to be called "Richard Simmons' biggest fan."
This wasn't blatant disrespect for Christian tenets. It was an emphasis on the hilarity of the lengths to which some go in sharing their convictions. Nobody of any creed, Christians, Muslims and Buddhists included, should take themselves so seriously.
