Ice cream fans got a chance to meet Ben & Jerry's co-founder Jerry Greenfield at the store's Archer Road location Friday night.
Greenfield came to kick off the ice cream chain's new boxed chocolates inspired by flavors such as Imagine Whirled Peace and Phish Food, said Pete Zimek, the co-owner of the Archer Road franchise.
The store is one of eight in the U.S. selling the chocolates.
Outside the store, the Ben & Jerry's mascot cow danced and hugged younger ice cream fans.
"I like eating it and licking it and letting it melt on my tongue," said 4-year-old Piercen Bogolea.
Inside, about 50 people sampled chocolate and purchased ice cream cartons for Greenfield to sign.
Greenfield's arrival sent a buzz through the crowd, as customers moved to meet him.
"I'm beyond words," said Greenfield, whose daughter, Lindsay, is a sophomore at UF. "I'm happy. I'm thrilled to be here."
