Florida's Board of Governors will meet again today as part of a two-day session, addressing two topics that will center on saving students money, in the session's final day.

The issues of interest will pinpoint the $24 million in Pell grants that went unclaimed by Florida resident students in the State University System, said Bill Edmonds, the board's spokesman.

Edmonds said Thursday's discussionwill center on saving students money .

"We'd love to get $24 million from the legislature, but that's not going to happen, we've got a budget crisis going on," Edmonds said. "Meanwhile it's there for the taking."

Another consideration intended to cut students' costs may be the requirement for all professors to post textbooks online 30 days before class starts.

Posting textbooks early allots enough time for bookstores to obtain used materials and for students to order discounted books online, he said.
