Today marks the end of the semester, but 13 students will participate in a class discussion Thursday, covering health care issues both at home and abroad.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the Pugh Hall Ocora room from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The students, who were enrolled in Politics of Health Policy, an honors class, will present research including AIDS relief in Africa and affordable pharmaceuticals in developing countries, prenatal care for Latina immigrants and the regulation of blood donation in the U.S.
"It shows us how broad the problem of health care is," said Michael Heaney, a UF political science professor who will also be proctoring one of the three panels.
The three panels will cover international health care, federal and state health programs, and public health and medical practice in the U.S.
