Allow me to speak up before things get out of hand.
Normally when I read the opinion columns in the Alligator, they are cleverly written with good-natured humor and some food for thought.
Both the Friday and Monday columns lacked all of the above.
I have no problem with students speaking their minds, but you won't win me over to your side with bitter rants and flat attempts at sarcasm. You won't change anyone's mind by blatantly attacking either.
I like this paper. When I graduate, I'm going to miss the oddball stories, the sharp cartoons and the brilliant reporting of my favorite sports team. I will especially miss the opinion columns that foster thought and conversation among the Student Body.
Please bring the wit back, and stop crushing my spirit with your negativity - I'm tired of hearing you blabber.
