The ticketing system employed by the University Athletic Association has more than lived up to its irritating reputation this semester.
Forget the UF-Georgia game. We play them in Jacksonville, so driving for an hour to hang out ticketless at the Landing isn't really the end of the world. It ended up not mattering this year anyway.
The ticket debacle before the Southeastern Conference Championship made us want to Frisbee-toss our laptops out of our bedroom windows.
After arriving in Atlanta, the privileged few who got tickets to the UF-Alabama game had to suffer through slow-moving lines because UF wanted to ensure the tickets issued to its students weren't being scalped.
The exact problem with the UAA's ticketing system can't really be pinned down, so we won't try.
Instead, we're going to blame the whole process top to bottom, students included.
No matter how the UAA goes about distributing tickets, someone is going to whine about something.
If you didn't get tickets, get over it. You still have a TV.
If you did get tickets, don't complain that you had to wait to get into the Georgia Dome because everyone else was sitting at home watching the game.
And if you work for the UAA, don't lose any sleep over the complaints because they're always going to be there.
All we're trying to say is, no process is perfect, and some people have to be skipped over or left out.
Let's just be happy our football team is good enough to provide us with so many chances to complain.
