The Southeastern Conference championship game ticketing system is the best system the University Athletic Association has had yet.

The telephone system was a nightmare. Everyone who had a landline phone got in faster. GatorZone's version of Ticketmaster was just as bad because certain Internet connections got through faster and more often than others.

The system used Monday worked like any other Ticketmaster system: The first ones to log in were the first to get their tickets. Those who waited did not get any. If you really wanted the ticket, you would have been on right at 5:59 p.m., waiting for it to activate.

If you have ever tried to get tickets from the Ticketmaster Web site, you would know they use an excellent virtual queuing system, and they sell out so quickly because of the amount of people and the lack of waiting.

While the country code on the billing was a legitimate problem (one that Ticketmaster has done an excellent job of fixing through their customer service), handing out tickets in the order people got in line was a first for UF football tickets. I applaud the UAA for using this system.

I also applaud it for making the tickets non-transferable and non-refundable, which helps to curb greedy students who only want tickets to make a profit a la season tickets or the Georgia fiasco. Thank you, UAA.
