I wanted to commend Jake Miller's column in Friday's Alligator.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin represents everything I stand against both as a woman and as a citizen of this country.
Her views are irrelevant, and as this nation progresses, she will find that her narrow-mindedness and divisive remarks only work on a diminishing sliver of our population.
Palin has made it clear what she feels the "real" America is, but the real America is a mosaic of cultures, religions and ideologies.
On Tuesday, that mosaic voted for an individual it feel represents them and closed the door on nonsensical fear-mongering.
If Republicans believe the reasons they lost the presidency, as well as numerous House and Senate seats, is because of the economy and Bush, they have learned very little from this experience and will likely nominate Palin in 2012.
I am not a particularly liberal person, but I feel strongly that if we ever see or hear Palin again, it will be too soon.
