Who said the economy is crushing the housing market? Fannie Mae who?

Why should we care about all this negative economic talk when we could buy a house over the Internet for less than the cost of four Natty tallboys?

A Chicago woman recently bought an abandoned house in Saginaw, Mich., for $1.75. We're not kidding.

We like to eBay things as much as the next guy, but an entire house in a different state?

We suppose you could sell it, but by simply putting an ad in the paper you've already dug yourself a financial hole 50 times what you paid for the house.

Or you could knock it down to make room for the spacious backyard you've always dreamed of. The only downside, of course, is that the lot is two states away. Your hopes for playing catch with little Tommy are pretty much shot, unless he's got an arm like the kid from "Rookie of the Year."

When we heard about this we had to see the house in question. It looks like the ground underneath it is going to open up and swallow it out of pity. We doubt that Jason Voorhees would shack up in this place because it just wouldn't feel cozy enough.

Seriously, you bought a house for less than $2. What are you going to do with it now?

If you're bored enough to buy a house on eBay with the change you found under your couch cushions, you're probably better off skipping to the gas station for a couple of tallboys.
