Two restaurant employees were left bound with duct tape after an unsolved knife-and-gunpoint robbery in East Gainesville on Tuesday night.
Gainesville Police reported two armed men, one with a revolver and one with a 6- or 7-inch butcher knife, held up E & L Soul Food, at 1818 N.E. Waldo Road, at about 8:30 p.m.
Employee Charles Lewis, 58, told police that a man with a gray, long-barreled revolver came in through the back entrance and said, "If you say anything, you're dead," the GPD report stated.
Lewis said a second man with a knife entered, demanded money and taped Lewis' wrists and ankles with duct tape, the report stated. A second employee, Frances Coleman, 57, also had her wrists taped together.
Lewis said he was able to free himself after the men left, the report stated.
Detectives are investigating the case. Both suspects were described in the report as black men in their late 20s or early 30s.
The man with the gun was wearing a red coat and black pants and had a cloth bag over his head, the report stated. The man with the knife was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, a black leather jacket, dark pants and a ski mask.
