The new online student ticket process is a joke. This system, which was supposed to replace the old phone system and be more efficient, is the exact opposite. It reduces my computer to a series of blank screens and failed connections.
It's impossible to log on and get tickets to the away football games because people get on hours before the time tickets actually go on sale even though the University Athletic Association tells students not to log on until 6 p.m.
It is pretty disappointing that not one of my friends or I will be able to get a student ticket to this year's game because every girl in this or that sorority was told to log on at once before their weekly chapter meeting so they can face away from the field and take pictures.
What a terrible system.
How about the ticket office wakes up, acknowledges this mistake and creates a system that rewards dedicated fans who really want tickets. I guarantee you if Florida started a line at 6 a.m. this Saturday - an off week for football - you would only get the fans who really want to go to Jacksonville at that window.
If that doesn't work, the ticket office could make everyone waiting for tickets online pass a competency test before they can buy tickets. Something needs to change.
