I would like to discuss the problems that the new system of football ticket dispensation has created.
It is simply a system already put in place by Ticketmaster that gives the athletic department an excuse to charge a 60 percent fee on the ticket price.
The new system lacks transparency and, in the end, causes more headaches. Instead of being able to walk around with your cell phone, you have to stay near your computer for up to five hours or more. There is no way to know where you are in line, and on more than one occasion, the system allowed someone in line for less than 10 minutes to purchase a ticket before someone who had been waiting for hours.
The online ticket system is unfair, inconvenient and does not have the student in mind at all. I propose the athletic department use the overloaded but fair phone system or an online lottery. That would put the student first.
