Local woman charged with stabbing boyfriend

A woman who brought her boyfriend to the hospital for a knife wound was arrested Sunday on charges of stabbing him.

At 4 a.m. Patsy Shenice Wesley, 42, brought her boyfriend, Levy Morgan Butler, to Shands at AGH with a non-life-threatening stab wound to his lower back, Gainesville Police Lt. Larry Seale said.Police were called by an employee at the hospital, Seale said.

Wesley told police the two had gotten into an argument about cheating, and she had thrown garbage on the floor and poured syrup and body wash on the bed, a GPD report stated.

She told police she did not know how her boyfriend had been stabbed, and if she did it, it must have been an accident, the report stated.

A witness who lives with the couple told police he overheard the argument and that Butler said they were going to the hospital because Wesley had cut him.

The report stated there had been a sworn complaint against Wesley in September.

An affidavit stated she had climbed through Butler's window, throwing his items around his room and pouring vinegar on his bed, according to the report.
