Boy, was I disappointed when I opened the Alligator on Monday morning.

Have you guys been waiting for a place to use your killer Shar-Pei-to-old-people comparison you spent so long coming up with?

Because there was no author given for this editorial, I cannot be sure, but I would be shocked if whoever wrote this attended the event.

The Alligator writers I spoke with seemed to be enjoying themselves, or at least could see the dogs and their owners were.

If you were so concerned with the dogs' dignity, you should have taken a look around the room. Most of the dogs, if not all of them, were wagging their tails, interacting with other dogs and having a good time with their owners.

Whether costumes are involved, I endorse any event that encourages people to get out with their dogs.

In any case, I wish you guys would have thought a little longer before you so cavalierly dismissed an event that the pre-vet club members worked hard to execute to raise money for the Alachua County Humane Society.
