Biden visits Ocala to promote early voting

Less than a week after Michelle Obama drew a crowd of more than 10,000 people in Gainesville, Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden will visit North Central Florida today to promote early voting.

Biden will speak at Dancing Horses Farm in Ocala at 8711 W. Highway 40.

The speech is free and gates open at 9 a.m. The event is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.

No ticket is necessary, but reservations are recommended at www.fl.barackobama.com.

Kevin Cate, spokesman for Barack Obama's Florida campaign, said Biden is stopping in Florida because of the state's importance to this year's election.

With only a week until Nov. 4, North Central Florida is a key campaign area because of the amount of undecided voters in the area, he said.

"(Undecided voters) are extremely important in how Election Day turns out for presidential candidates," he said.

Biden's tour started in New Port Richey on Monday and will stop in Melbourne on Tuesday and Jupiter on Wednesday.

Sen. Barack Obama is scheduled to return to Florida to campaign in Sunrise on Wednesday.
