As if the Barack Obama train didn't have enough momentum, local supporters decided to hold an event to garner more support for the inescapable media darling. They even gave it a clever moniker: Obama-rama.

We'll bet no one's ever thought of that one before.

We know they organized the event to stress the importance of voting while supporting the man they intend to vote for, but it's starting to seem like overkill.

Every day Obama clogs up the front pages. He now actually lists his home address as "above the fold."

If you try to Google "Sen. Barack Obama," the imposing result load will give your Mac an ulcer, causing it to keel over and promptly fall to its doom from its favorite lap-perch.

He sees us at the bookstore. From the cover of his book (which is on display next to McCain's book at the UF Bookstore), he watches us spend our hard-earned middle-class dollars on overpriced textbooks and iPod accessories. There's no escaping it - the man is everywhere, and it's starting to annoy us.

That probably isn't fair to say because he's only doing exactly what he needs to do to win the election. The bad part is that it's barely the beginning of September, and we're already yearning for this circus to end.

We realize it's important to take the time to cover the candidates, but the overwhelming Obama media stream is even making us hate the news.
