In her first match at a major college tennis tournament, Jo Mather lost against Stephanie Davison of Texas 6-4, 6-2 in the pre-qualifying round of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships. Mather also partnered with Anastasia Revzina in doubles play but lost in the opening round to Texas Christian's Nina Munch-Soegaard and Maria Babanova 8-5.

Mather's first appearance at the All-American ended quickly, but UF sports three players in the upcoming week's qualifying round. Revzina, Marrit Boonstra and Megan Alexander will all compete on Tuesday, with Revzina being the highest ranked.

In doubles action, the team of Alexander and Boonstra, ranked sixth, have been granted an automatic berth in the main draw on the strength of their national ranking. The duo will begin play Thursday.

The qualifying rounds and the main draw will take place at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The singles main draw will consist of 32 players and the doubles main draw will feature 16 teams.
