Paige Crandall will serve as interim dean of students for the remainder of the academic year, according to a Thursday memo from Patricia Telles-Irvin, vice president for Student Affairs
Crandall will take over the former job of Gene Zdziarski, whose last day of work at UF is today. Zdziarski will assume the vice presidency at Roanoke College in Salem, Va.
Crandall, who will begin as interim dean Monday, has worked in Student Affairs for more than 21 years, Telles-Irvin wrote.
She came to UF in 2005 and is currently an instructor in the educational administration and policy department, she wrote.
Mary Kay Schneider Carodine was also announced as the assistant vice president for Student Affairs. Carodine, formerly the senior associate dean of students, will begin work Monday.
Carodine, who has been at UF since 2002, will be in charge of the Center for Leadership and Service, Multicultural and Diversity Affairs and Student Legal Services.
