Gators junior defensive end Jermaine Cunningham was named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Lineman of the week Monday after the Gators' defeated Miami by a 26-3 margin Saturday night.

Cunningham, who tallied a sack and a forced fumble against Hawaii in week one, followed up that performance with nine tackles and one sack against the Hurricanes. The nine tackles was second on the team to linebacker Brandon Spikes.

Cunningham and Spikes lead the team with 11 total tackles on the year.
