UF defensive end Jermaine Cunningham was seen on crutches following Tuesday's practice, though according to coach Urban Meyer, the injury isn't as bad as it appears.

Cunningham suffered a hyper-extended leg during the Gators' 30-6 victory against Tennessee on Saturday and is currently listed as probable.

"We'll know more tomorrow," Meyer said. "We MRIed it, there's no cartilage damage, no ligament damage. It happened early in the game when he attempted a tackle in the open field, so he played most of the game with it. I think he's going to play."

Linebacker Ryan Stamper has a sprained ankle and is also listed as probable.

JENKINS SURPRISES: Freshman cornerback Janoris Jenkins' play is leaving many impressed with his maturity at such an early age.

Jenkins played the majority of the game against Tennessee on Saturday after starter Wondy Pierre-Louis got beaten on consecutive plays. Jenkins made the most of his opportunity with an interception in the end zone and a forced fumble.

"The thing about him is, he has no fear," said defensive coordinator Charlie Strong. "What you're so afraid of is when he does get beat, how is he going to respond? But he's done a great job for us."

Sophomore Joe Haden, who started as a freshman, said Jenkins is far ahead of where he was a year ago because Jenkins grew up playing cornerback, while Haden was thrown right into the fire as a converted quarterback.

"He's physical, quick, and he just knows how to cover," Haden said. "He's really, really good at covering people."

SLOW START OFFENSIVELY: After being one of the most explosive offenses in the country last season, few expected the Gators to open the season with three wins in which the defense has been more spectacular than the offense.

If you listen to Louis Murphy, he'll tell you that patience is certainly a virtue right now.

"We're going to see, we just started off a little slow, but we're going to keep it going," the wide receiver said. "We have a lot of plays, and they'll get called."
