As a supporter of presidential candidate Bob Barr, I would like to respond to Kyle Robisch's commentary by saying thank you. It is most flattering to a candidate and his supporters when someone pays attention, especially when he repeats the same old boring argument the Republicrats always use when a third-party candidate breaks out of the pack.
Barr is breaking out of the pack for sure with his polling numbers, showing 10 percent or more in some states.
Clearly, Kyle must have read that Barr is coming to speak at UF on Sept. 23, and it may have caused him to panic.
In his column, he didn't make it clear whether he is a Republicrat, Independent or third-party, nor did he make it clear which presidential candidate he supports.
The only thing standing in the way of Barr being elected president is that he must get in on the debates.
I'm sure Kyle would have no problem with that because I know he would want the American people to hear each candidate. I hope that you are for choice, Kyle.
Your argument would have some credibility if you had mentioned the election of 1992 and its third-party candidate, Ross Perot. He was leading the pack by 35 percent until he alleged that his family was threatened and had found federal agents in the bushes outside their home. He dropped out but later came back in to get 18.9 percent of the vote.
Good work, Kyle! I may have to bet on Auburn.
