Saturday night, as Tim Tebow was trying to organize offensive drives, the stadium was blaring loud when it should have been quiet.
Was it crazed Miami fans? Drunken Greeks? Silly freshmen? No. It was our band.
Repeatedly during our offensive drives the drum major ran the band well past the huddle and almost all the way to the snap.
The band leader needs to realize that everyone is there to cheer on the Gators instead of hindering the team's progress by not realizing the fundamental difference between playing loudly during defense and quietly during the setup of offensive plays.
Songs should be performed after the play is whistled dead, not while Tebow is trying to set up the offense.
At one point, Tebow himself motioned for the band to stop.
I hereby demand the band refrain from playing while the Gators are setting up offensive plays. If the drum major doesn't feel up to the task, I think there are plenty of competent football fans who can replace him.
