I entered UF in 1998 with 26 Advanced Placement and 11 dual enrollment credits. Everybody said how great that was and how quickly I could get through school. I, like many of you, did not need study skills to get A's in high school.
Leeway is given in the lower division classes that I bypassed, which teach you to study in college in a way you never did in high school.
I learned that late and had to repeat semesters' worth of upper division classes. I flunked out twice and wound up taking the full four-and-a-half years the catalog said my degree would need.
AP classes were wonderful. However, they will not teach you how to study, and your 3000-level professors won't care.
Learn studiousness ASAP.
