UF student senators traded ties for tennis shoes and bills for basketballs at a Saturday basketball tournament at the Southwest Recreation Center.
The senators were divided into four teams according to their committees.
About 40, or almost half of the nearly 100 senators, showed up to play.
The Rules and Ethics team showed the most team spirit, naming themselves the Enforcers and practicing for three days before the tournament.
But in the end, hard work couldn't save the Rules and Ethics Enforcers, and players from the Replacement and Agenda Committee swept the tournament.
Sen. Beau Frail, who played for the Enforcers, said the event helped the senators bond.
"Sports in general seem to facilitate camaraderie, and we want to build trust and respect in the chambers," Frail said.
