The current cadre of Orange and Blue Party senators came into office with majestic claims of progress, newfound unity and a list of action items longer than most term papers. They were going to fix WebMail; they were going to fix the budget; they were going to get online voting (for real this time); and they were going to fight the administration on, well, everything.

Yet one month into their respective terms in office, they've accomplished nothing. They've hardly even attempted to accomplish anything other than making a backbench senator squirm a bit and making complete fools of themselves on a weekly basis.

The current controversy is clearly nothing more than a power grab - and a poorly executed one at that.

If the Orange and Blue Party senators really cared about "the Senator from Nowhere," they'd institute official impeachment proceedings instead of aimlessly whining and then depending on increasingly slanted Alligator coverage for good press.

As a student who voted for several of their candidates and a former independent senator (from District E, no less), I'm disappointed in the Orange and Blue Party. If this is how they intend to spend the rest of their term, then they need to reconsider their priorities.
