Baby got back? If so, the Reitz Union's Gator Nights will feature a bun-sketching artist on Friday night.
Pjae Adams, an artist with the company The Original Butt Sketch, will draw free portraits for those interested in having their backsides beautified on paper. The sketch session will run from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. on the second floor of the Reitz Union.
The charcoal portraits take about two and a half minutes to create, and they capture a profile of the backside from head to ankle, Adams said.
"Generally, you capture a person's essence by their posture and the way they stand," she said.
While any type of clothing is acceptable, Adams said that a lot of people wish they had worn jeans to their sitting, or in this case, standing.
"Every single line builds character," she said.
Adams has been a bum-sketcher for the past seven years.
The group of artists has gotten up-close-and-personal with the celebrity buns of Rosie O'Donnell, Jamie Foxx and the 2007 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
Founded in 1987 on a Dallas street corner, The Original Butt Sketch is comprised of 12 artists who travel the world sketching peoples' best side - their backsides.
Adams has displayed her unique talent in places like Montreal and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The 31-year-old, who earned a visual communications degree from The Art Institute of Dallas, never imagined she would be drawing derrieres for a living.
But after a friend introduced her to the company, Adams said she was immediately hooked.
She said she feeds off the energy of the crowd.
"People love it, for one," she said. "It's just a hoot."
Adams said she looks forward to sketching and interacting with UF students on Friday night.
The artist hopes to provide them with a personalized profile of their booty and a little entertainment.
"Every encounter is unique," Adams said. "I like to think I'm entertaining, and it's always fresh and new."
