The Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, a serene sanctuary of plant life, blossoms with 15 different gardens.

"Each one is a priceless gem and is special for some reason," said Don Goodman, director of the botanical gardens.

Kanapaha, located on 4700 S.W. 58 Dr., recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.

"When we first started here it was a cow pasture and we transformed it into the state's most diverse gardens," Goodman said.

The 62-acre gardens are home to oranges, herbs, palms and flowers. It also has the largest bamboo garden in the state, Goodman said.

The gorgeous gardens also serve as a backdrop for wedding ceremonies and conferences. Whether people come here to enjoy the collection of plant life or for a social event, they are never disappointed.
