While the FBI has identified the remains of four out of five men who were kidnapped in Iraq in 2006, former UF student Jonathon Cote, 25, is still missing.
Cote was kidnapped while working for Crescent Security Group, a private security firm, on Nov. 16, 2006.
He attended UF for one year beginning in fall 2005 and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
"We're still hoping that Jonathon's alive," said Francis Cote, Jonathon's father.
However, he added that "the odds are slimmer and slimmer" because all the other hostages Cote was captured with have been found dead.
Earlier this month, Cote's severed finger was sent to American authorities. His friends and family saw the development as a positive sign that he was still alive and that his kidnappers were prepared to negotiate.
But by Friday the bodies of all of Cote's fellow hostages had been found and identified.
Francis Cote said he wants everyone to pray for his son's safe arrival and check the Web site www.freecote.com for updates.
