After reading Thursday's editorial, it is clear that those in charge of the section are driven by fear and not logic with regard to concealed weapons.
It is true that carrying a concealed weapon doesn't guarantee one's safety.
Citizens with permits are educated through the training required to obtain a permit that even though they have the ability to fight back, there is still a possibility that they can be harmed or killed.
Permit holders are also taught that the first step in self-defense is to attempt to get away from the danger, not move toward it like a "student-turned-vigilante."
The reality of the situation is that lunatics are bringing guns into "classrooms, libraries, dormitories and cafeterias."
Allowing permit carriers to pack simply gives them the ability to fight back instead of just waiting to be executed.
