Now that the Florida Democratic Party has ruled out the possibility of a revote in Florida, the Democratic National Committee needs to accept the results of the Jan. 29 primary.
Unlike Michigan, where only Senator Clinton was on the ballot, Florida had every candidate on the ballot giving a record number of Florida Democrats, 1.75 million, a chance to vote. By not seating the delegation according to the popular vote of the primary, the committee will be punishing innocent voters for the deeds of their Legislature. If the idea of disenfranchising millions of voters isn't reason enough to count the votes from Florida, the recent poll showing only 63 percent of Democrats will vote for the Democratic nominee if their vote isn't counted should be reason enough. Florida, once again, is a crucial swing state that would be foolish to lose because of issues over when the primary was held.
