Whatever UF decides about summer school, it had better make up its mind soon.
Summer and fall courses are usually listed during the first week of March - just in time to let students choose other options, such as study abroad, internships and jobs.
As bad as it would be to cancel summer school - I need to take nine credits myself and won't graduate on time without them - it would be worse not to notify students in a reasonable amount of time about the final decision.
If UF is going to lock the door, they'd better leave other exit strategies open.
