I couldn't believe what I read in the Friday issue of the Alligator. A panhandler making $40 to $50 a day? That's amazing!
That's more money than I make working at a legitimate minimum wage job. How can these people claim to be homeless and yet make roughly $1,000 a month?
That's twice the amount of money my rent and utilities cost combined.
Now that I think about it, I stand behind the panhandlers who believe that the new anti-begging law is a bunch of bull.
Why?
Because if my career as a teacher doesn't work out as planned, I'll have something with decent pay to fall back on.
