Man identified for exposure in Education Library

Witnesses have identified a man accused of masturbating in the Education Library at Norman Hall, according to a news release from the Police Department.

Police filed a sworn complaint against Gainesville resident Gene Walker Moore, 41, on charges of exposure of sexual organs and trespass after warning, according to the UPD release.

However, police have not been able to arrest Moore.

On Jan. 23 around 2:30 p.m., two female students were studying in the library when they saw a man masturbating, the release stated.

The women notified UPD, but by the time officers arrived, the man had fled.

The women were able to identify Moore from a photo line-up developed by UPD investigators, according to the release.

Police are still trying to find Moore, who was released from the Alachua County Jail just three days before the alleged incident occurred, according to a jail official.

Anyone who has seen Moore is urged to call UPD at 392-1111.

Police described Moore as a 5-foot-11-inch, 200-pound man with a white goatee.
