The University Police Department is looking for a man who was spotted exposing his sexual organs last week in the UF Education Library at Norman Hall.

Two women told UPD officers they saw a man exposing himself inside the library, but he did not approach them.

By the time police arrived, the man had fled.

A UPD flier posted in UF's libraries described the suspect as a black man between 24 and 30 years old with an athletic build and short hair. He was seen wearing a black shirt and blue shorts, the flier stated.

According to Lt. Stacy Ettel, police will respond by increasing the number of patrols they send through the area and researching past offenders.

Though he could not remember the last time a person was caught exposing his or her sexual organs on campus, Ettel said this incident is not the first of its kind at UF.

"It's happened at libraries over the years on and off," he said. "This is not something new to the university setting."

Jasmine Brown, a fourth-year English student, was studying at the Norman Hall library Sunday night when she found out about the exhibitionist.

"It's definitely disturbing," Brown said. "I don't think it would cause me to not study here, though."
