The Jewish Student Union, a UF student organization, is welcoming students back to school with three days of social events.
The group, known as JSU, hosts a welcome week every semester to introduce opportunities for on-campus Jewish involvement, said JSU president Danielle Obrart, a UF religion junior.
Obrart said JSU aims to expand during the spring semester.
She said JSU is kicking the week off with a "Spread Your Seed" program on the Plaza of the Americas. Starting at 10 a.m., students can plant seeds in honor of Tu B'Shvat, the holiday observed today that celebrates trees.
Obrart said JSU members would pass out bagels and orange juice in front of Broward Dining Hall Wednesday at 11 a.m. to attract freshmen.
That night, students can meet at Hillel to carpool to Skate Station Funworks, a local attraction with go-carts, mini-golfing and rock climbing.
On Thursday, JSU will host its first Jewish Involvement Fair on the Reitz Colonnade from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The week will conclude with a social at The Swamp restaurant.
Judging by last semester's welcome week, Obrart said she expects at least 100 people at each event and as many as 300 at the Swamp social.
