Occasional lane closures on Southwest 62nd Boulevard could delay traffic, including Regional Transit System bus routes 20 and 21, for the next month.

The buses - which stop at The Oaks Mall, Melrose Apartments, Cabana Beach Apartments and McCarty Hall on UF's campus - could be delayed between about 10 and 15 minutes, RTS spokeswoman Theresa Harrison said.

The delays are a result of construction of a new apartment complex just north of Southwest 20th Avenue, said Brandon Daly, the project's assistant superintendent.

Lane closures will occur off-and-on over the next month as turn lanes are installed, he said.

While there were no lane closures Tuesday, Harrison said buses were slightly delayed by bulldozers and equipment along the road, and RTS received several complaints.

Up to 100,000 people ride route 20 each month, and about 30,000 ride route 21, Harrison said.
