Tight end Cornelius Ingram and defensive end Derrick Harvey, both juniors, have filed paperwork with the NFL to gauge their draft stock, UF coach Urban Meyer said.
Ingram said he filed the paperwork early last week.
Doing so does not require either player to enter the draft, and the early process is usually just about gaining information.
"I'll actually put them on the phone with some general managers and head coaches," Meyer said. "So if they make a decision, it's a well-educated one."
At 6 foot 4, 230 pounds, Ingram said he would like to be drafted in the first or second round and will probably return to the Gators for his final year if that isn't probable.
"I'm not really concerned," Ingram said. "Wherever they want me to play, I'd be willing to do whatever it takes. If I had to lose weight or gain weight, I'd be willing to do that."
TRANSFER MEETINGS: Backup quarterback Bryan Waggener met with Meyer and decided to leave the Gators on Monday, and Meyer said he is planning to meet with freshman running back Bo Williams today.
Offensive coordinator Dan Mullen said last week that Waggener was considering a transfer, while Williams said he had already made up his mind to leave.
"Bryan Waggener is going to try to get eligible right away, and we're trying to help him," Meyer said. "That makes a lot of sense to me. He's got two years left. He's a great person. He wants to go play football, and it doesn't look real promising here right now. I don't mind that one. It's the other ones that I don't understand."
Running back Chevon Walker, receiver Jarred Fayson and tight end Trent Pupello have already been granted releases from the team.
In addition to some of his players transferring, Meyer has also dealt with outside requests.
"I get five phone calls a weekend of kids from other schools trying to transfer, and my advice is always the same: Stick it out and go become a Louis Murphy or a Vernell Brown or a Reggie Lewis," Meyer said. "There's enough great stories, and for God sakes get your education."
ETC: Cornerback Joe Haden did not participate in any scrimmages after missing the Florida State game with a high ankle sprain. Meyer said he expects the freshman starter to return in time for the Capital One Bowl on Jan. 1. He still did individual workouts … Offensive guard Jim Tartt has had mononucleosis for at least the past three days. Meyer said it should be another four to five days before he returns.
